As a follow-up to our message of May 10, we would like to once again draw attention to the totally overstrained road transport market in the Netherlands and in the rest of Europe for both general cargo and containers. We see no improvement at this moment. Capacity remains a huge challenge. Due to the extreme shortage, it is no longer achievable to use time windows or to handle specific requests.
In Europe it is extremely busy, in all sectors of transport. This leads to an enormous lack of capacity for all transport companies. The reason this has arisen has several causes; lack of drivers, lack of transport material due to shortage of raw materials and an substantial growing number of shipments the last couple of months.
We ask you again to take into account delays and therefore longer transit times, depending on the type of transport and the destination, it can take 1 to 3 days longer than you are used to. Of course, as always, we do everything we can to keep the inconvenience to our customers to a minimum, but we advise you to take this into account in your planning.
