Market situation for air freight to North America under strain

As mentioned already in our most recent newsletter, the situation on the USA West & Eastbound trade lane has come under considerable pressure. Especially for so-called "main-deck" cargo, waiting times of 2 weeks or more are currently normal, whilst on the other hand the kg price continues to rise due to the shortage.

Unfortunately, the same situation is slowly beginning to arise also on the market for regular "lower-deck" cargo. As a result, your cargo may arrive later than you are used to with us. Fortunately, we do still have our fixed weekend allocation from and to Chicago, although this service, too, is beginning to come under pressure.

We expect that this situation will continue until the end of the year. We realise, obviously, that you are using our services because of our reliability and quality of service. However, we believe it is part of our service to inform you well in advance of any pressures and to let you know that we will continue to make every effort to transport your shipments in the manner that you are used to with us, but that we also depend on available capacities.

Of course, you may be assured that we will leave no stone unturned, in cooperation with our partners, to find the right capacity at the best possible prices for our customers. You can help us by letting us know at as early a stage as possible what bookings we may expect to receive from you.
As a possible alternative, we can offer you our ocean freight service. With our "FAST OCEAN" service, we can transport your cargo to North America within 14-16 days from door to door.
